A Biohacker Future
An exploration by Shelby Newsad & Compound
Introduction
At Compound we believe in building views of the various futures that we believe in. We do this over long time horizons with high degrees of specificity in an attempt to understand where the world is today and where the world is going tomorrow and to inspire others to do the same. Sometimes these shifts are driven by new technologies while other times they are driven by a combination of technological progress and societal change.
As society has grown increasingly frustrated by their standard of healthcare and science has continued to evolve at a rapid pace, biohacking and self-directed medicine/science has begun to emerge as an answer. It’s emerged both for those trying to optimize and save their lives. We believe this movement is only at its beginning and is in for a massive wave of adoption, experimentation, success, failure, and broadly, progress. As we’ve continued to speak to communities of patients, scientists, and hackers, we felt it prudent to explore what is and what could be in the future of biohacking.
This is that exploration.
